Composition: 100% Chardonnay
Aging: Partial concrete tank aging (25%); 9 months aging in new and used French oak barrels (25% new oak)
Winemaking: Partial malolactic fermentation (38%)
Vineyards: Shenandaoh Springs Vineyard

Winemaker's Notes: Chardonnay is a variety that is amenable to stylistic direction in the cellar. For this vintage, the wine reflects the crisp minerality of concrete aging, the bright fruit and slight butter character of malolactic fermentation, and the classic Burgundian character of barrel fermentation and aging. Like the Mosaic, this wine reflects the harmony of blending even with a single variety. 

Impressions: On the nose and palate, you will discover notes of green apple and citrus with subtle hints of wet stone, butter, and toast.
