2014 Nettare di Tramonto

Lush mouth-feel with a dense, fruity core, this is a true dessert-style wine with 8% residual sugar. This was our first vintage of a late harvest Vidal Blanc since 2010.  Most years, we allow portions of our Vidal blocks to hang for late harvest, but in Virginia the weather in late October does not always give us enough sunny ripening days to raise sugar levels high enough, and, even more importantly, to encourage botrytis.  In 2014, however, our gamble paid off, and we were able to make a significant amount of this delicious, rare dessert wine.
